What do you do with an extra roll or crescent rolls and a couple of apples? Why, make mini breakfast type pies of course. Last Saturday I woke up craving pastries with warm apple, so Will and I worked together to make this fun little treat. Enjoy!
1 package crescent rolls
2 granysmith or other baking apples; cored, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbs butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 or the temperature that is recommended on the package of rolls. Combine butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg into a medium sauce pan and melt together over medium heat. Add apples and cook until the apples are tender and starting to fall apart. Roll out dough and add a spoonful of apple to the large end. Roll up and place on a dark, non-stick cookie sheet. Bake according to package. Remove from pan and let cool.
